This is the second in a series of surveys being conducted by the National Farm Animal Care Council (NFACC) as it continues to facilitate the process of revising the Codes of Practice for several farm animal species, including equines. This revision is led by a Code Development Committee, which has broad participation from across the industry, including equine owners, transporters, veterinarians, researchers, representatives from animal welfare organizations, government, and the processor/feedlot sector.
We are asking for your input on the following topics that the Code Development Committee is working on for the revision to the Equine Code of Practice: body condition scoring, reproductive management and transport. Subsequent surveys will include questions related to other important topics for this Code.
This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
The survey is confidential. Your input is critical to updating the Equine Code of Practice. If you’re interested in staying informed about the Code renewal process, you will have the option to provide us with an email address at the end of this survey.
